Rep. Melissa Shusterman

State Representative Melissa Shusterman is running for re-election in the 157th district in Chester County.

First elected in 2018, Rep. Shusterman serves on the Judiciary, Children and Youth, Commerce, Rules, and Tourism and Recreational Development committees. She introduced a bill to ban small plastic bottles in lodging establishments in favor of bulk dispensers to cut down on the purchase of single use plastics. She also introduced legislation to remove the burden of recycling packaging materials from municipalities and onto the producers, requiring them to create a recycling procedure for their products.

Rep. Shusterman is committed to fighting for our environment. She supports increased funding for the Department of Environmental Protection, a moratorium on fracking in the Delaware River Basin, and has committed to never taking money from the fossil fuel lobby.

The 157th district has a committed environmental champion  in Rep. Shusterman, and we urge her constituents to send her back to Harrisburg to continue to fight us.
