Tarik Khan

Tarik Khan is running for State House in the 194th District, representing part of Philadelphia.

Tarik Khan has worked in Philadelphia as a nurse for over 16 years. As a nurse, Tarik has treated Philadelphia residents who suffer due to a lack of environmental protections in their communities, including children with asthma because they attend toxic schools. After the pandemic began and once COVID-19 vaccinations became available, Tarik worked with a community organizer to launch a homebound vaccination program to administer vaccines to Philadelphians who could not get the vaccine otherwise.

Tarik is a pillar in his community and has seen that Philadelphia is not prepared to face the effects of climate change, as the flooding from Hurricane Ida demonstrated. He supports creating union jobs and a Civilian Climate Corps while transitioning to renewable energy and building climate-resilient infrastructure. Tarik would also call for holding the fossil fuel industry accountable and demanding they clean up every toxic site in Philadelphia.

We are confident that Tarik Khan will fight for Pennsylvanians’ rights to clean air, water, and land. We encourage the voters in the 194th District to send Tarik Khan to Harrisburg this November.
