Peter Buck

Peter Buck is running for the State House in the 171st District, representing parts of Centre and Mifflin counties.

Peter currently teaches at the Pennsylvania State University and works for the PSU Sustainability Institute. He is a former Ferguson Township supervisor, and has served on the Public Services and Environment and Facilities committees of the Centre Region Council of Governments and on the Spring Creek Water Commission.

Peter demonstrates a strong commitment to a clean and healthy environment. He currently serves on the Environmental Resource Consortium and the Penns Valley Conservation Association executive committees and leads an intergovernmental solar power purchase agreement working group in Centre County. When elected, he would work to increase clean and renewable energy usage in the state, collaborate with local farmers to pay them for creating new stream buffers, and create a conservation corps tasked with planting five billion trees by 2030. He is running against Rep. Kerry Benninghoff, who scored a 0% on the 2019-2020 Pennsylvania Environmental Scorecard, voting against the environment every opportunity he had.

We know that Peter Buck will be a strong advocate for the environment, and we urge the voters in the 171st district to support him!
