Harrisburg, PA — Conservation Voters of Pennsylvania (CVPA) issued the following statement from Executive Director Molly Parzen on the election of Rep. Joanna McClinton (D-Philadelphia) as Speaker:

We congratulate Rep. Joanna McClinton on her historic election as the first woman Speaker of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives. 

CVPA is grateful for Rep. McClinton’s strong leadership on environmental issues and appreciates her unwavering fight to protect and preserve Pennsylvania’s resources and democracy. We look forward to continuing working with her in her new role as Speaker to advance important new environmental initiatives across the state that will protect our air and water, transition Pennsylvania to a clean energy economy, and protect the right to vote for all.
