HARRISBURG, PA – Today, Conservation Voters of Pennsylvania Victory Fund launched a massive field organizing effort in conjunction with LCV Victory fund. CVPA Victory Fund will be investing more than $2 million and knocking on more than 160,000 doors as part of a nationwide effort to knock on at least 1.17 million doors in battleground states, in support of pro-environment, pro-democracy champions in the 2022 midterms.

CVPA Victory Fund and LCV Victory Fund’s efforts will focus on the races for Governor and U.S. Senate and key state legislative districts.

“We can’t hope to avert climate disaster without a stable, functioning democracy, and that is exactly what is at stake in Pennsylvania this year,” said Molly Parzen, Executive Director of CVPA. “Doug Mastriano was a ringleader of the attempt to steal the 2020 election in PA, and if he is elected he will have the power to actually do it in 2024.”

“Josh Shapiro has a proven track record of taking on corporate polluters and he knows that we can fight climate change and build an economy that works for everyone by creating new clean energy jobs and lowering Pennsylvanians’ energy bills,” she added.

Additionally, LCV Victory Fund named the first 6 candidates to its signature 2022 House and Senate Dirty Dozen list of the worst anti-environmental candidates, and Mehmet Oz made the list.

“Dr. Oz is a longtime resident of New Jersey and has no real connection to Pennsylvania,” said Parzen. “He is a climate denier and has repeatedly said that the Green New Deal is a lie, and that the “technology doesn’t exist” to transition to clean energy. He also pushed the Big Lie and has said that ‘we cannot move on’ from the 2020 election. He cannot be trusted to represent Pennsylvania in the Senate.”

“John Fetterman has consistently shown that he puts people ahead of profits,” she added. "He will go to Washington and work to build a green economy that lifts up the working class and ends environmental injustice in our communities."

CVPA Victory Fund will also focus on several State House races in Bucks County, which remains a critical battleground for control of the House. CVPA Victory Fund canvassers will be knocking on doors in support of Tim Brennan for State Representative in HD 29,Mark Moffa for State Representative in HD 142, and, Brian Munroe for State Representative in HD 144. The seats in HD 29 and 142 are open, and the incumbent in HD 144 has a lifetime 8% score on the CVPA scorecard.

The field organizing programs will all run through Election Day, November 8.
