Conservation Voters of Pennsylvania, along with strategic partners PennFuture, is the leading environmental advocacy force in Harrisburg. During the 2025-2026 legislative session, CVPA will work with our legislative allies, the Shapiro Administration, key agency staff, partner organizations, and our members and volunteers to advance the following policy priorities:
- Develop Pennsylvania’s clean energy economy to fight climate change, lower prices, and build more resilient communities
Currently, just 4% of Pennsylvania’s energy comes from renewable sources and we emit more carbon pollution than many of our neighbors. As energy costs soar, CVPA will advocate for policies that make our Commonwealth a clean-energy leader — fighting climate change by ending reliance on fossil fuels, while lowering energy costs, and creating a more resilient and equitable future for all Pennsylvanians. - Ensure all communities have access to clean air, water, and land by preventing pollution and protecting natural resources
Although the Pennsylvania state constitution guarantees the right to clean air, water, and land, this promise has too often gone unrealized. From polluting infrastructure that is disproportionately located in Black and brown communities, to widespread threats to drinking water from chemicals like PFAS, significant action is needed to ensure a healthy environment for all. CVPA will support policies that protect environmental justice communities from pollution, improve access to clean air and healthy water, and protect our natural resources. - Protect our environment through preserving our democracy and ensuring fair and equal access to voting
Pennsylvania ranked just 32nd in easy access to voting as of 2022 - and too often the communities hit hardest by climate change face the greatest barriers to voting. A stronger democracy drives stronger climate action. CVPA champions policies that make voting fair, secure, and accessible.
