Aerion Abney is running for State House in a special election this April for the 19th District, representing part of Allegheny County.
Aerion is a native Pennsylvanian who has degrees in communications and social work from the University of Pittsburgh. He is currently a social worker and the Pennsylvania Director for Special Projects for All Voting is Local. Aerion previously served as a Program Officer at the POISE Foundation, where he was responsible for identifying strategic grantmaking opportunities.
Aerion’s platform includes environmental justice and voting rights. He wants to see the Department of Environmental Protection develop innovative ways to promote renewable energy and will work with neighbors and community partners to establish health equity zones to eliminate issues like lead in water and poor air quality. If elected, Aerion will also push for same day and automatic voter registration, pre-canvassing, and other pro-voter policies.
We believe that Aerion will be a fierce advocate for environmental issues in the 19th District, and we urge voters to elect him as State Representative.
