Cathy Spahr

Cathy Spahr is running for State House in the 160th District, representing parts of Chester and Delaware Counties. 

Cathy is a native of Southeastern PA. She attended Dickinson College where she earned her bachelor's degree in Environmental Science. Cathy has worked as an environmental consultant in the engineering industry, specializing in environmental compliance and natural resource preservation for property transactions and telecommunications facilities. She is now the Codes, Planning & Zoning Administrative Coordinator for Newtown Township, where she has earned awards for her historic preservation efforts. She is also the founder of the grassroots organization “Send the Lorax to Washington”, which delivers copies of the book “The Lorax” to politicians in Washington and Harrisburg to encourage a dialogue on environmental issues. . 

When elected, Cathy will bring her strong background as an environmental scientist to Harrisburg. She is committed to setting Pennsylvania on a new sustainable path by advocating for clean energy, eliminating fossil fuel subsidies, implementing an equitable carbon tax, and continuing to grow the clean energy work force by ensuring training opportunities and job programs are readily available.
