Jim Wertz - Erie County Council (District 2)

Jim Wertz is running for Erie County Council for the 2nd district.

Jim previously worked as a union broadcaster and production manager for a local Erie news station. He also works as a teacher, and in 2018, was elected as Chairman of Erie County Democratic Party. In 2024, he ran for Pennsylvania State Senate, where he earned our endorsement.

If elected, Jim has pledged to support the cleanup and restoration of Lake Erie and pledged to fight back against any potential buildout of pipeline infrastructure that will put communities at risk. The East Bayfront in Erie's 2nd District is one of the last redlined bayfront areas in the country. He will work with municipalities and stakeholders to expand the use of renewable energy technology, and will support the expansion of Erie’s transit agency.

We know Jim will be a strong advocate for the environment on County Council. We strongly urge voters to support him on November 4th.
