Rep. Steve McCarter

State Representative Steve McCarter is running for re-election in the 154th district in Montgomery County.

Rep. McCarter and his wife have lived in Cheltenham Township for more than 25 years. Prior to his election as a state representative in 2012, Rep. McCarter taught high school for 35 years. He is a former Army reserve captain and Pennsylvania State Education Association board member.

In the legislature, Rep. McCarter serves on the Environmental Resources and Energy and Game and Fisheries Committees and has been a staunch advocate for environmental issues. He helped create the Climate Caucus, has advocated for a severance tax, and fought against a bill that would allow politicians, not scientists, to determine which species should be considered endangered. Rep. McCarter has earned a 100% score on our 2017-2018 Pennsylvania Environmental Scorecard.

Rep. McCarter is one of the best environmental advocates in the State House, and we urge you to send him back to Harrisburg in November.
