[Philadelphia, PA] – Today, Conservation Voters of PA endorsed Adam Rodriguez (D) for State Representative in Northeast Pennsylvania’s 189th District. Conservation Voters of PA represents thousands of individuals in the Commonwealth who are committed to clean air, land, energy, and water, and prepared to vote for candidates who reflect those values.

“Adam Rodriguez is running in a district where environmental concerns are particularly relevant. The Poconos represent some of Pennsylvania’s most beautiful and treasured natural spaces, as well as some of our most important outdoor recreational areas,” said Josh McNeil, Executive Director of Conservation Voters of PA. “Mr. Rodriguez will provide a strong environmental voice in Harrisburg for the 189th.”

Mr. Rodriguez currently works as a graphic designer and previously worked for the NY/NJ Port Authority. He has been a member of the Teamsters and Carpenters unions throughout his career. Mr. Rodriguez has made environmental issues a top priority in his campaign. He has committed to fighting for a fair and reasonable severance tax, as well as making much needed investments in our failing infrastructure. His opponent holds a lifetime score on our Pennsylvania Environmental Scorecard of just 22% and in this past session has voted for bills that would roll back gas and oil protections and open new loopholes for drillers.

Mr. Rodriguez said of the endorsement, “I am incredibly honored to receive the endorsement from Conservation Voters of PA, as it further demonstrates our campaign's commitment to a cleaner, safer, and more protected environment. At such a crucial time for our cause, the 189th district is in need of an ally in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, not a rubber-stamp for special interests and large polluters. I am running to be that ally, to commit to protecting the pristine water, clean soil, and breathable air that are so vital to the Poconos.”
