[Philadelphia, PA] – Today, Conservation Voters of PA endorsed Representative Carolyn Comitta (D) for re-election to the State House in Chester County’s 156th District. Conservation Voters of PA represents thousands of individuals in the Commonwealth who are committed to clean air, land, energy, and water, and vote for candidates who reflect those values.

“Rep. Comitta has demonstrated her dedication to environmental issues throughout her career. In Harrisburg, she has been a stalwart champion for clean air, open space, and drinkable water, earning a 100% on our 2017/2018 Environmental Scorecard,” said Caren Glotfelty, Board Chair of Conservation Voters of PA. “At a time when Chester County faces so many unprecedented environmental concerns, we must re-elect people like Rep. Comitta to the State House.”

Rep. Comitta is in her first term as a State Representative and serves on the Environmental Resources and Energy Committee. Rep. Comitta has been vocal on the dangers presented by the pipelines crisscrossing Chester County and has worked closely with her community to ensure families and drinking water supplies remain safe, including  sponsoring a bill which would create a much needed Pipeline Safety and Communications Board. Since 1992, she has worked with the United Nations on environmental issues, including the UN Conference on Environment and Development and the conference on Health and the Environment.

Rep. Comitta said of the endorsement, “There is nothing more important to me and to current and future generations than being an environmental champion. Access to clean air, clean water and protecting the environment is a fundamental right and is the basis of which our children and all people thrive.”
