[Philadelphia, PA] – Today, Conservation Voters of PA endorsed State Representative Mike O’Brien for re-election in Philadelphia’s 175th district. Conservation Voters of PA represents thousands of individuals in the Commonwealth committed to clean air, land, energy, and water, and prepared to vote for candidates who reflect those values.

"Rep. O’Brien has a 100% score on the most recent Pennsylvania Environmental Scorecard, and is a steadfast environmental champion in the State House,” said Josh McNeil, Executive Director of Conservation Voters of PA. “We need to send Rep. O’Brien back to Harrisburg to continue standing up for public transportation and fighting against attacks on our clean air, land, and water."

Rep. Mike O’Brien has served the constituents of the 175th district since 2006. Rep. O’Brien is leading efforts to ensure all children are tested for lead and to ramp up lead abatement programs throughout the state. He is working to make it easier to hold natural gas drillers accountable when they contaminate drinking water supplies. Rep. O’Brien has also spearheaded initiatives to improve public transportation, particularly SEPTA, and has been a strong advocate for the drilling industry paying their fair share.

Rep. O’Brien said of the endorsement, “Too many members lose sight of our constitutional obligation to protect and preserve the environment for the next generation. This endorsement speaks to my adherence to this obligation.”
