[Philadelphia, PA] – Today, Conservation Voters of PA endorsed State Senator Art Haywood for re-election in the 4th district. Conservation Voters of PA represents thousands of individuals in the Commonwealth committed to clean air, land, energy, and water, and prepared to vote for candidates who reflect those values.

“Sen. Haywood is a strong environmental champion in the State Senate who is committed to fighting for better environmental protections,” said Josh McNeil, Executive Director of Conservation Voters of PA. “We need to send Sen. Haywood back to Harrisburg to continue standing up for clean air, land, and water."

Sen. Haywood was elected to the Senate in 2014. He has lead efforts to ensure that all schools are tested for lead and is a proud co-sponsor of legislation which commits Pennsylvania to 100% clean energy by 2050. He has also taken a strong stance on energy sustainability, co-sponsoring bills that would provide tax credits for green building and increase the amount of renewable energy sold in the Commonwealth.

Sen. Haywood said of the endorsement, “Thank you for your endorsement. The work of Conservation Voters of PA is critical to advancing strong environmental policies. Renewable energy is the way forward."
