Conservation Voters of PA calls on Republicans to fund federal and state governments
Conservation Voters of Pennsylvania Executive Director Molly Parzen issued the following statement regarding the federal government shutdown and the current state budget impasse:
We are calling on Republicans in Washington to abandon the extreme politics of division and work on a bipartisan basis to fund our federal government. The Trump administration’s illegal cuts to critical programs, attacks on federal agencies like the EPA and rollbacks of clean energy investments have cost jobs and raised prices for working families.
In Pennsylvania, the impacts of this shutdown are even more keenly felt because state Senate Republicans have refused to come to the table with Governor Shapiro and legislative Democrats to approve a budget that funds our state government and makes crucial investments in clean energy and job creation.
We’re calling on Donald Trump and Republicans in both Washington and Harrisburg to work with Democrats to put the American people over the profits of billionaire CEOs and oil and gas executives. We need a government funding plan that lowers costs, creates jobs and protects the health and safety of American families. Republicans need to get back to the table and get to work.
