Martell Covington
Martell Covington is running for State House in a special election this April for the 24th district, representing part of Allegheny County.
Martell is a lifelong resident of Homewood and a graduate of Howard University. He began his career working for a non-profit his family founded called the Community Empowerment Association. Most recently, Martell worked as a Legislative Assistant in Senator Jay Costa’s office, where he gained substantial experience with state legislation and worked very closely with local community groups.
In Martell’s impacted community, residents are disproportionately impacted by water quality problems, flash flooding, and a lack of access to public transit. He believes that by creating jobs in clean energy and investing in our infrastructure, we can improve quality of life for all families and help to address climate change.
We know that Martell Covington will be a strong advocate for environmental issues in the 24th House District and encourage voters to elect Martell as State Representative.
