DEIJ COHORT: Creating A Staff Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (JEDI) Committee
Many environmental/conservation organizations recognize the importance of integrating Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (JEDI) values and practices into their work and organizational culture, but don't know where to begin. That's why the Watershed Racial Justice Initiative is convening a cohort of people who are in the beginning stages of running a JEDI committee at their organization, to provide guidance and support, including a plan of action to guide the first year of operation.
The application to join this cohort is open to organizations in the Delaware River watershed that do not have an existing JEDI Committee, or whose Committee is very new. Cohort meetings will focus on providing content expertise, problem solving opportunities and other resources to support the launch of and successful operation of JEDI Committees.
Individuals who participate in this process should consider it as an eight-month seminar, and that their initial JEDI Committees should be up and running by the December meeting date. In addition to the meeting schedule below of the cohort, the Watershed Racial Justice Initiative consultants will observe each participant's JEDI committees in January and February, and will provide feedback.
Download the application here. The deadline to apply is Monday, August 21.
